Challenge

With only 15 employees, this long-standing Baltimore-based insurance company might have a small staff, but their technology footprint is significant. As an insurance provider, they rely very heavily on their IT systems since any downtime would be extremely costly not just in lost revenue, but also lost productivity and client dissatisfaction.

Their original system was built to be fast and redundant, but it was very costly to maintain, the equipment was getting old, and the configuration needed to adapt to modern standards. The business experienced many challenges related to the management and maintenance to this system that were difficult to control for, including several power and Internet outages. They knew the system would need to be replaced and it was their priority to get the technology physically out of their office.

Solution

DPS helped the client develop a strategic plan to consolidate their system and migrate it to the “Cloud”. Several conceptual designs were reviewed with them to outline what their next system could look like. As DPS gained more institutional knowledge about their workflow, challenges and objectives, these designs were further refined and finalized, and execution began on the strategic plan.
